Wholistic Trauma Recovery & Nature-Based Therapy | San Antonio, TX

Body-centered nature therapy to help you move out of a chronic survival mode, reclaim your raw personal power, and network into shared, collective re-wilding action.

You don't have to carry the weight of this world alone.

You wake up before your alarm, your head heavy and your chest already tight before your feet even touch the floor.

The loop starts immediately: the family weight you carry, the career pressure, the high cost of existing, and the crushing background noise of a world that feels like it’s burning while you're forced to pretend everything is normal.

So you put on the armor. You get up, drink your coffee, and step into the day. At work or in your community, you perform. You smile, code-switch, and act as the steady, reliable anchor everyone relies on. People love how much you can handle—not realizing that under your skin, your nervous system is on fire and you’re living on a permanent high-alert stance.

By the time you get home, the momentum breaks down completely. The energy leaves your limbs.

You collapse onto the couch and reach for your phone. Hours vanish into digital screens, algorithmic feeds, or trash TV—anything to numb the heavy noise and keep from spiraling. You see invitations or opportunities to connect, but the sheer exhaustion and anxiety make you retreat right back into your shell, feeling like a ghost hiding in your own life.

Then comes the breaking point. A quiet evening, a small shift, or just the sheer weight of holding it all together, and the dam breaks. You realize you can't keep surviving on duct tape, screen time, and hyper-vigilance. You are tired of being offered sterile clinical worksheets or corporate self-care for deep somatic, relational, and ancestral exhaustion.

You don't want to be fixed—you want to return to your roots. You want a safe, unhurried space to drop the relentless performance, uncork the stored pain trapped in your body, and reclaim your right to feel rooted, connected, and genuinely alive.

Hey, I'm Javi.

I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker based in San Antonio, TX.

My capacity to hold your grief, rage, and exhaustion comes from the historical architecture of my own life.

I am Borikua.
Taino and West African mixed with Spanish and Portuguese—colonizer and colonized converging in the same body.

I was born on a US military base—the byproduct of one of the only paths available to Puerto Ricans inside a colonial economy—and grew up in a border town between Texas and Mexico, constantly translating myself into a shape that was never mine. I didn't have language for nepantla, or double consciousness, back then. I just lived in both.

Later, Western academia offered knowledge for assimilation, while Fundamentalist religion asked for something more specific:

  • It asked me to stop dancing—because moving my body was considered sensual and sinful.

  • It asked me to give up the food of my people, until I forgot how my family used to eat.

  • It asked me to change how I walked, dressed, and wore my skin, until I became a quieter, more colorless version of myself.

  • And it asked me to hide the fact that I'm queer

Leave the body. Live in the head. Trade what you feel for what you can perform. Fundamentalist religion and higher education asked me for the same thing—just in different clothes.

The return didn't happen overnight, but it also didn't require perfection or a finished process — just a willingness to begin.

  • It happened through dance—moving stored energy back out through my limbs.

  • Through poetry and writing—finding words of my own.

  • Through rebuilding a spirituality that didn't ask me to leave my body at the door.

  • And through long stretches of time outdoors, letting my nervous system remember it belonged to the earth.

I'm still on this journey, just as you are. I've simply traveled parts of this particular terrain before.
What I offer isn't expertise from above, but what I've learned along the way, paired with a genuine curiosity about what you've learned along yours—a place where you can finally put down the code-switching and the "unshakeable adult" armor, and just be allowed to be human again.

I call this work Eutierria Therapy—built by weaving together the ancestral wisdom of my Borikua lineage, somatic movement, land-based practice, and real relational depth.
We take therapy out of the cold clinical box and back onto the living earth—breathwork, water, dirt, movement—helping your nervous system discharge what it's been holding onto for years. Whether virtually, outside on the land, in community, or with sacred medicine, all of it is built to help you get your daily rhythm back, protect your relationships, and remember what it feels like to play without flinching.

Here's the thing I want you to hear: You were never broken. You were disconnected.

Disconnection, unlike brokenness, can always find its way home—back to your body, your ancestors, the earth, and the people who walk beside you.

You don't have to carry the weight of a crumbling world alone. You were only ever asked to carry your share—together with others. And I'd be honored to walk beside you in that

I work with deeply caring, socially conscious people—practitioners, students, organizers, artists, caregivers—who care too much to look away, and feel like they're carrying the weight of a world that's crumbling.

  • If you're running on an exhausting, high-alert stance...

  • If your brain feels like it’s "constantly on fire"...

  • If open, unstructured time makes you panic instead of rest...

  • If the stress you've been swallowing all week finally erupts as an argument in the home you're trying so hard to protect...

...I see you.

Your burnout doesn't mean you've failed. Neither does the freeze that takes over your body without warning, or the eco-grief in your chest you've never quite had words for.
Your body and mind aren't broken. They're protesting. Intelligently. Against a system that was never built to hold what you carry. And that protest isn't just yours—it's a call toward something collective. A remembering.

  • Deep, honest conversation that goes where you actually need it to go, not where a clinical template says it should.

  • Outdoor, land-based sessions where we take therapy out of the four walls of an office and onto the earth, partnering with the land herself to help ground your nervous system and carry the weight of what you're holding. 📍 San Antonio area parks/trails.

  • Body-based awareness, breathwork, and gentle movement that help you recognize, track, and physically shift the heavy stress, anger, and ancestral grief out of stagnation and out of your nervous system.

  • Ancestral and relational honoring, drawing on our collective cultural wisdoms to strip away colonial amnesia and reconnect you to a deep sense of place.

  • Sacred medicine integration, utilizing Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy contextually as a deep, reflective catalyst to help bypass defensive walls, heal systemic burnout, and open new paths of spiritual and emotional alchemy.

  • Tangible, real-world tools you can use between our sessions to build calm, maintain your footing, and stay grounded when the daily grind feels overwhelming.
