Group Nature Therapy in San Antonio
A nature-based therapy group for healing trauma, held outdoors in San Antonio.
Our first group begins Wednesday, December 2: eight sessions, every other week.
Healing Was Never Meant to Happen Alone
Most therapy today has taught us to heal in private. One body, one room, one hour at a time.
But before individual therapy existed, our ancestors knew something we’re only now remembering: that the nervous system regulates in relationship, that grief is lighter when it’s witnessed, and that a wound held in community has a different shape than a wound held alone.
Group therapy at Eutierria Therapy is an invitation to return to that older way of healing, together. Outdoors, in a small seasonal group, you practice what so much of our conditioning has stripped from us: the capacity to be truly seen, and to truly see others, without performance.
This nature-based group meets in a San Antonio park, outdoors, under open sky. It is rooted in ancestral and intergenerational healing, and it follows the rhythms of the seasons rather than an arbitrary calendar. Whether you are new to group therapy or ready for a next step alongside individual sessions, this is an invitation into something none of us can build alone: a village.
Now Forming
Ancestral & Intergenerational Trauma Healing in Nature
An eight-session outdoor therapy group in San Antonio, meeting every other week.
What this is:
Trauma is not only stored in personal memory. It lives in the body, in the stories handed down through generations, and in the patterns we carry into our relationships today.
This is nature-based group therapy for trauma, held entirely outdoors in San Antonio parks, where the parts of us shaped by trauma grow back into connection with our bodies, with each other, and with the living world.
Across eight sessions held every other week, we use movement, body-based practices, family lineage mapping, journaling, and storytelling to notice how trauma lives in us, loosen inherited cycles, and build reciprocal relationships with the land and one another.
The land is not a backdrop here. It is part of the healing relationship.
Who is this For:
Adults in the San Antonio area carrying trauma, anxiety, burnout, or grief who want to heal in community and in nature. You do not need to be “outdoorsy.” You just need to be willing.
What this group draws on:
Ancestral & Attachment Trauma
We look at inherited family patterns and wounds formed in relationships, then practice new ways of responding within the support of the group.
Somatic Movement & Emotional Release
Movement and body-based practices outdoors help express and release emotions that words alone may not reach.
Earth-Anchored Nervous System Settling
The feel of soil, the movement of air, open sky, and wide horizons help the body settle out of survival responses and return to ease.
Relational Healing
Through connection with the land and with fellow participants, you practice trust, honesty, boundaries, and being in relationship without having to perform.
Reclaiming ancestral resilience
We also look for what your lineage carried that kept people alive: strength, wisdom, and cultural belonging worth anchoring to, not only patterns worth breaking.

Frequently Asked Questions
-
Start by booking a free 30-minute consultation. We meet by video to talk about what you are carrying, what you hope for from the group, and any questions you have about meeting outdoors. This conversation is how we decide together whether the group is a good fit and the right timing for you, including safety, the schedule, and the commitment to all eight sessions.
If it is a fit, I will walk you through the next steps, including paperwork, before the first session on Wednesday, December 2. If it is not a fit, we can talk about what kind of support might serve you better.
-
No. You do not need to be a current or past individual therapy client to join. The free consultation is the entry point for everyone.
Some people do group therapy on its own, and some do it alongside individual therapy. What matters is whether this group fits what you need right now, and that is what the consultation is for.
-
In individual therapy, the time is yours alone. We can go at your pace and spend more time on your personal history and your day to day life.
In group therapy, healing happens in relationship. You hear how others carry similar struggles, you practice honesty, trust, and boundaries with real people, and you learn in your body that you are not the only one. You get less time focused only on you, and more time learning from the circle as a whole.
This group is also a closed cohort of up to eight people moving through the same eight sessions together, so the work builds from one session to the next in a way individual therapy does not.
-
A support group is usually peer led or drop in. People come and go, and the focus is sharing experiences and mutual encouragement.
This group is clinical therapy. I lead it as a licensed clinical social worker, everyone is screened before joining, and the same small group stays together for all eight sessions, with a beginning, a middle, and a closing. We work with trauma directly, using body based and nature based practices, rather than only talking about it.
If you found this page while looking for grief support groups in San Antonio: grief is welcome in this group, as part of the larger healing work. It is simply held as therapy, not as an open support group.

Mostly, yes, with two honest limits that are better named up front.
As your therapist, I am bound by confidentiality, and I do not share what you tell me outside the legal and safety limits that apply to all therapy. We go over those limits together before you join.
For the other members: everyone agrees at our opening session to keep what is shared in the group inside the group. I set and hold that expectation, but I cannot guarantee another person's choices, so you always get to decide how much you share, and when.
Because we meet in a public park, complete privacy is not possible. Other people may be in the area, even when they are not part of our conversation. The exact meeting location is shared only with group members, and we talk openly in the consultation and the opening session about how the group cares for privacy outdoors.
-
Yes. You do not need to be outdoorsy, and you do not need hiking experience or special gear. This is therapy that happens to meet in a park, not a sport or a fitness program.
Our time together centers on conversation, contemplative reflection, journaling, and body based practices, with the land around us as part of the setting. If you have questions about terrain, mobility, allergies, heat, or being outdoors for 90 minutes, bring them to the consultation and we will talk honestly about whether this setting can work for you.
-
This group meets in person only, so it cannot be joined by video. You do not have to live in San Antonio, but you do need to be able to get to a San Antonio park on Wednesday mornings for all eight sessions.
If that travel is realistic for you, you are welcome to book a consultation and we can talk it through. If it is not, individual telehealth therapy may be an option if you live in Texas or California, where I am licensed.
-
Being outdoors in real weather is part of this work. The group meets in light rain and in cooler or warmer weather, and before each session I will share guidance on how to dress and what to bring.
Safety comes first. If weather makes meeting outdoors unsafe or truly unworkable, such as lightning, ice, or a severe storm, that session moves online by video at the same time, so the group keeps its rhythm and no session is lost. I will contact everyone as early as I can when a change is needed.
-
This group is a closed cohort, and the eight sessions build on each other, so joining is a commitment to the full arc.
The opening and closing sessions matter most. The opening is where the group forms its agreements and begins together. The closing is where we complete the work as a circle. If you already know you cannot make one of those dates, this is probably not the right cohort for you, and the consultation is the place to talk that through.
Life still happens. If an illness or an emergency comes up, let me know as soon as you can. A missed session cannot be made up or replayed, because the group's conversation happened live, with the people who were there. The group will help you step back in at the next session.
Because your spot is held for you for the whole cohort, the session fee applies whether or not you attend.
-
Group therapy is $65 per session. The cohort is eight sessions, so the full series is $520.
Eutierria Therapy is a private pay practice and does not bill insurance. If you have out of network benefits, I can provide a superbill on request, which you can submit to your insurance company for possible reimbursement. I cannot promise they will reimburse, and that part is between you and your insurer.
If cost is a barrier, bring it to our consultation and we will talk about it there.

Right now, Ancestral & Intergenerational Trauma Healing in Nature is the only group forming. This is my first group cohort at Eutierria Therapy, and I am giving it my full focus before adding anything else.
If a future group takes shape, it will be announced on this page and in my newsletter, Letters from the Soil.
